Мне кажется, можно попробовать чуть-чуть упростить. Например, так:

As far as I am myself, I am both the affected and the source of affection, its subject and its content. I experience myself and constantly, through this experience, my "me" is constituted. But even though it is me who experiences myself, I am not the source of this experience.

Слушай, это может кретин переводил, или человек с расстройством речи. Почему у тебя такое низкопоклонство перед казенными цитатами? Ты хочешь, чтобы слушатели поняли эту мысль или это не главное, и тебе по непонятной мне причине обязательно надо цитироватьь эти нелепые "переводы"? Насколько в Мишином переложении смысл ясен, настолько же он затемнен в этом псевдо-переводе.
